District, State and National PTA News
Budget Cuts: It is time for all PTA members to stand up and be counted. In
cooperation with the school district, our district Superintendent, and
our school board we must take action together to assure our voices are
heard. The current budget crisis in the state of California has forced the
political framework and put the local schools in the middle. Attached
are four letters which are addressed to your legislators, urging them
to preserve funding for our schools.
I urge you to take a leadership role and print these letters out, have
every adult in your house sign them, and send them to your legislators.
Also consider having your neighbors sign them as each signature is
counted as a letter.
Jan07: FYI. The Governor's Committee on Education Excellence has completed its intial report. Check it out here.

Many
schools and other nonprofits have used Goodsearch as an effective way
to raise funds by haivng its members just search the internet.
Goodsearch will donate approximately 0.01 for each search. It is also
just added Goodshop, which is another way to add funds to your school.
As an example, Sinnott Elementary has raised over $90
this year with its searches. For more information, check out
www.goodsearch.com or contact members schools who are using it
(Sinnott, Rancho).
Superintendent's Message
I am very
pleased to welcome you to the Milpitas Unified Council of
PTA's website. I think it is terrific that the District's PTA officers
and members have access to a website that is specifically designed to
support thier efforts in working with our students and staff. The
Milpitas Unified School
District is a wonderful public educational institution due in a large
part to its long-standing close relationship with its PTA's. Strong
PTAs are the heart and soul
fo successful schools
and school districts. I applaud the efforts of your President, Mr. Dan
Bobay and Vice President of Communications, Mr. Robert Jung in
developing and
designing this very user friendly website.
